Hello! Welcome to my page about how Frugalwoods earns an income for me and my family.
If you click on a link that’s noted as an “affiliate link” and buy something, or if you sign-up for a credit card or other service noted as an affiliate, Frugalwoods gets paid at no cost to you. You don’t pay me–the company pays me.
This is called affiliate marketing and it’s how I make a living writing this blog. The fact that I get paid doesn’t influence whether or not I write about or promote a product because I don’t write about stuff that I don’t personally use, like, and recommend. I tell you about things I like in the same way I tell my friends about restaurants I enjoy: from personal experience.
I’m sharing this because I want you to know how this works and how I make money. I quit my full-time job to write Frugalwoods and I love doing it because I’m passionate about helping people use their money and time towards their highest priorities.
Why do I want to make money? Because I put a lot of time into Frugalwoods and have done so since 2014. I love my work and I appreciate being compensated for the hours I put in.
I didn’t start Frugalwoods with the intention of it turning it into a business, but I’m grateful it has evolved into something that produces revenue. I feel lucky that I get to do what I love and get paid for it too.
There are also a lot of ways that I choose not to make money with Frugalwoods:
- There are no ads on Frugalwoods because I find them annoying and counter to the overarching message of Frugalwoods
- I don’t accept affiliate partnerships from companies or products I don’t believe in
- I often write about things that make me zero dollars just because I think they’re worth writing about
- I don’t accept sponsored posts from companies because I think you come to Frugalwoods to hear from me–not from a company trying to sell you something
- I don’t push get-rich-quick schemes because they’re usually just that: schemes that don’t work
I hope this helps explain how and why Frugalwoods makes money. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
